There is no legal requirement for signage in New Zealand on private property. However the vast majority of private land owners do provide some sort of signage which illustrates the risks and conditions of parking on private property. Any signage provided is done so as a courtesy by the property owner and is not up to the towing company to make sure these are displayed.
If you park on private property without the authority from the property owner or their tenant this is unauthorised parking. It is up to the driver to ascertain whether or not they should be parking there. If there is any doubt in your mind, park elsewhere.
